Do as I do. Don’t do as I say.

Imagine if we said that to our children. To our employess, to our partners.

Would your world change in an instant? (Besides feeling the pressure of course 🙂 It would certainly make you think twice wouldn’t it?

You’re now truly a role model, a real living example, a real leader, not just another, ‘Do what I say, not what I do. For heaven’s sake. As if. . .’

We tell our children to speak nicely Do we?

We tell our children to use their manners. Do we?

We tell our children to be respectful. Are we?

We tell our children to eat healthily Do we?

We tell our children to listen? Do we?

We tell our children to be kind. Are we?

Imagine how quickly we would be called into being, into our truth, our integrity, into the moment.

Imagine how quickly we’d have to clean up our acts, when we came face to face with our inconsistencies.

But as Yogi Bhajan put it ‘There is no power greater than the power of the Word, and when the Word is performed through the body, the entire being is purified and relaxed.’

Because of course, it is our truth, no disconnection between what we say and what we do. Oh, how hard it that?

Imagine how quickly we’d become conscious and mindful. Imagine how much we’d howl with laughter when we saw how truly ridiculous we are. (or maybe that’s just me 🙂

Maybe this is path to true transformation, not meditation, not yoga, but seeing ourselves in full force being mirrored back to us, in every moment by the mini-mes in our world .

How long do you think you’d last? Before you’d revert to the old model of Don’t do as I do, do as I say?

x Eilish

btw I’m not recommending or even suggesting you try this 🙂 Myself I shudder at the thought, even if I am trying to be my word every day.
