I love this meditation, the infinity mantra It’s my ‘go to’ when I am feeling stressed. I have taught it in class, in workshops, on planes, to my nephews, my nieces, my friends, random strangers:-) It surprises me months later when people tell me they still use and that they have taught it to others.

I believe we all need a few tools in our kit that we can pull out when ever we need them.

Posture Sit in easy pose cross-legged on the floor or with your sit bones on a cushion to support you. Ensure your spine is straight, your chin slightly tucked in to create a neck lock.

Eye focus Focus at the brow point.

Mantra SA – Infinity, Cosmos, beginning TA – Life, existence NA – Death, change, transformation MA – Rebirth

This is the cycle of creation.

From the infinite comes life and individual existence. From life comes death or change. From death comes the rebirth of consciousness. From rebirth comes the joy of the infinite through which compassion leads back to life.

Mudra You are stimulating the meridians in the fingertips as you press them against the thumbs. On SA press the thumb to the Jupiter (index) fingertip On TA press the thumb to the Saturn (middle) fingertip On NA press the thumb to the Sun/Venus (ring) fingertip On MA press the thumb to the Mercury (little) fingertip Repeat beginning again with the Index fingertip. Always in this direction – Start with Jupiter finger, End with Mercury finger. Each repetition of the mantra takes about 4 seconds.

Visualisation As you chant the mantra visualise an L shape flowing in from the Cosmos through your crown chakra (top of head) down and out your third eye, your Ajna chakra. (above the bridge of your nose, between your eyebrows – the seat of your intuition). This energy pathway is know as the Golden Cord.

Time Start with 3 minutes in your normal voice.

You can increase it to 11 minutes. You then chant in the three languages of consciousness: normal or loud voice (the external world, your projection) for 2 minutes, 2 minutes in lovers voice, a strong whisper (longing to belong), 3 minutes in divine voice, silence (mentally infinity) (If during the silent part the mind begins to wander return to whispering for a period and revert to silence again when you are feeling calmer, more quiet) then after the 2 minutes in silence you return again to 2 minutes in a whisper, 2 minutes out loud.

You can work up to 31 minutes with 5 minutes out loud, 5 whispering, 10 silent, then 5 whispering, 5 out loud.

To end Finish with one minute absolute stillness and silence, holding the breath for as long as possible. Hold the mudra in Gyan mudra (thumb to Index finger) Then stretch the hands up as high as possible over your head. Spread the fingers wide. Stretch the spine. Relax.

Effects This meditation brings a total mental balance to the individual psyche. It balances the right and left meridians of the brain and will bring any ‘crisis’ to calm within 3 minutes. It rearranges the subconscious mind at the most elementary level. It has the power to break habits and addictions because it accesses the level of the mind where habits are created.

Each time the mudra is closed by joining the thumb (ego) with a finger the ‘ego’ seals, the effect of the mudra in the consciousness. The effects are as follows Jupiter finger – knowledge, Saturn – wisdom, intelligence, patience, Venus – love, vitality, energy, life, Mercury – ability to communicate

Once you’re familiar with the meditation. The actual mediation starts 2:50 minutes
